There are about four hundred outdoor sculptures, environmental works and historical monuments in Helsinki. The oldest works date from the late 19th Century, and there are some individual monuments that are of an even earlier provenance. While the works in the parks, streets, and squares of the city all belong to the collections of the Helsinki City Art Museum, the Museum website also features public works owned by the state, private companies, and individuals.
